Early Christmas Present!

Dru got to open an early Christmas gift yesterday from Grandma and Grandpa Wiley! He loves his nativity set. He played with it all day. His favorite part is making it play "Away in a Manager"

Halloween

Dru handed out candy last night to trick or treaters. He had fun having people come to his door. We did go to Julie's and our neighbor's houses. Here is a picture of Dru and Keaton (Julie's grandson). They are 3 months apart!Dru was helping me move his pumpkins before trick or treaters came and fell down our front steps. He really looks like a football player now!!

Parks and Rec

Parade Results

Dru had a great time on Saturday at the parade. He got 2nd place for the most creative for the 3 and under. They gave him a book and stickers. We decorated his wagon to look like a football field. It was a little windy so it sort of fell apart it was still cute! Grandma and Grandpa Wiley came, too. They brought Kaylee, Tessa and Jarret. They all had a great time trick or treating around the square to the different businesses. We also went to Burger King for lunch. This was Dru's first time playing in the play area. He had soooo much fun!!

Dru was feeling better on Sunday so we took some pictures with his pumpkins. I think he enjoyed his picture being taken a little more this year than he did last year. Dru is going to be in a Halloween parade on Saturday. Check back for pictures!! Thanks Aunt Elonda for my shirt!

Dru went for his 15 month check on Thursday. He had to have 3 shots. Clint got to take him!!

Dru had his tooth removed yesterday. Clint had to take him. He said it was harder on him than it was on Dru. They had to give him two shots one in the front and one behind the tooth. They gave us the tooth in a little treasure chest. I'll take pictures later this week and post them. Have a great day!

16-1=15 Teeth

Dru had a little accident at Wal-mart yesterday. He hit his mouth on the cart handle and fractured his tooth. We had to make an emergency trip to the dentist after hours. Our dentist can't do anything because he isn't a peds dentist/surgeon. We have to take him to a specialist. Only Dru. I cried more than Dru did! Part of the tooth has already broken off. This hasn't stopped him from eating either. Not a problem there!
Pictures are in the next post. I couldn't get it to all work together.

NO! NO! NO!

We must say these words lots to Dru because he'll say it and shake his finger at you. Dru has been very busy. He figured out to escape from the living room. He can climb up on the couch and he goes over the arm of the couch. I thought I would be smart and move the couch and pack n play around. That didn't stop him. He tried to go over the back of the couch. He has definetly earned the name "Monkey" he likes to climb on the couch and look out the window. He is very busy!

Just when I thought we would have a break from teething he gets more. The grand total right now is 16! Our dentist asked if I was pregnant for 18 months. He has his 2 year old molars.

My job search is still in full swing. I've had interviews. Clint is doing good. As always he has the best job ever!!

Special Prayer Request

Update: Jace went to live with the heavenly angels at 7:30 pm on August 19.
I'm asking that everyone please say an extra prayer and keep Jace and his family in your thoughts. Jace is going through quite a lot for being 9 years old. You can read his story at http://www.caringbridge.org/ia/jacecarrico/. He is a very sweet little guy.

Teeth, Teeth and More Teeth

Just an update!
Dru has a total of 12 teeth now. #13 is ready to come in. He is eating so good now. He decided last week that 3rd foods just weren't going to cut it anymore. He is eating all big people food and loving it.
Clint and I count our blessings each day that we have with Dru. We are having so much fun with him. He gives you one of the many faces of Dru and it can melt your heart.
I have an interview on Monday with the Dept of Ed. Keep your fingers crossed.

Cranberry Meatball Recipes

I'm posting this recipe for those who thought it was good at the reunion!
2.5 lbs. Frozen Swedish Precooked Meatballs
1 small can kraut with juice
1 can whole cranberries
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup grape jelly
3/4 cup chili sauce
1/2 cup raisins
Mix together and cook in a crock pot for 5 hours on low stir occasionally.

So sweet and innocent!!

Dru is officially 1 now!! I'm a mean mommy I made him go to two dr appts on his bday. His first was his 1 year check up. He is doing great! 27.12 pounds and 32 inches. He is on the charts again!! His second was with the dermo. His face is still broken out so the drs. are trying some different meds on his face.


Dru's bday party was lots of fun! We had a great day to celebrate and perfect weather.


Dru is totally weaned from the bottle! We went cold turkey with it and he did just fine. He will only drink from one type of cup though. We have been trying table food. Doesn't want it. It will come.


Happy Birthday also to Gr. Grandma Beverly and Jessica. Can you believe that Dru shares a bday with such great people!

11 months

This is of his fat lip that he got on Thursday at Julie's. I think we'll be seeing more bumps and bruises. He is all boy!!

Dru is doing great! He had his first eye appointment today. He passed. I'm just a little paranoid with him and thought he had a problem. His face still hasn't really cleared up so on Monday he has an appointment with a dermatologist. As you can tell from the pictures his face looks bad. My mom keeps saying that he looks like Chad at this age. I'm not for sure if I'll be able to go as I start my new job on Monday. Yes, I have a job. I'm going to be doing bail bonds. I won't be like Dog, I'll just go to court and get people out of jail with a bond.

So Big!!

So I know that it has been awhile since I have posted. Not much to report until recently. This may come to a shock to some of you but we just found out that Dru has a milk allergy. Gasp!! We switched him to soy formula and so far things are better. Dru is also taking a couple of steps. He gets too excited though and then he falls!! Dru got tooth #8 last week. So busy!

Here are a couple of pictures from the weekend. The outfit was my grandpa Merck's. Dru's legs were too chunky to get it fully buttoned.

Post Appt

Dru had his post op appointment today. His hearing is perfect now!! His ears look great also! He didn't even cry when the dr looked in them. That is a first.

I took a cute picture of him tonight sleeping on the couch. Yes, I was right there. What kind of parent do you think I am?

Dru's surgery went great!! The nurse took him back at 7:25. By 7:40 the dr came out. Dru didn't do good in recovery so they brought him to me early. We were able to leave by 8:15. Everything went so smooth. He is a different kid already. He is sleeping through the night again! His balance is also better and he doesn't seem as fussy! Clint is taking him back to the dr on Tuesday. I'm out of sick days so it's up to Clint.
Speaking of my job, I have resigned and as of right now I don't have one for next year. If anyone hears of anything for k-6 gen or sped let me know. Things happen for a reason so I'm hoping that I'll have a job for next year.

April 23rd

On April 23rd Dru is having ear tubes put in. He has been on 9 different meds since Oct. He has had 6 ear infections. The ENT checked his hearing on Thursday and he has losted some on the left side due to fluid. Once he gets the tubes the hearing will be restored fully. Keep our little guy in your thoughts and prayers on Wed.
On a happy note, Saturday Dru stood by himself for the first time. Look for the video to come later. He is getting so big. He has also decided that eating baby food is fun! In the words of his babysitter "He is a bottomless pit this week!!" If you don't feed him fast enough he cries. I wonder where he gets that from.

Strep Throat

Dru got really sick over the weekend. He started running a temp of 101 around 8 until 3am. We got really nervous because he has never had a temp. I took him to the dr on Saturday and wham he had strep. They gave him a shot in each leg. So much fun. He seems to be getting better. If it's not one thing it's another.
We can't wait for summer!

9 months

Dru will be 9 months on Tuesday. The Spurgeons are sick. Clint and I have sinus infections and Dru has ear infection #5.
Yesterday we did family pictures with Clint's parents. Dru wasn't feeling very good so he wasn't very smiley.

My 1st Easter

Dru with Kaylee and Tessa. Jarret didn't want to have his picture taken. Just when we thought things were going good it all falls apart. Dru has decided that sleeping 11 hours straight at night isn't fun. He also has gotten ringworm. Where he got that we have no idea!
Dru had a great 1st Easter. The snow was a little surprise too!

We have been apparently feeding him too much so he has been put on a diet. We've had to cut out one bottle a day. The dr also said to try canned veggies instead of baby food. Dru will eat canned green beans!!
Today we went to the park! Dru loves the swing! Clint has decided that he is going to be a dare devil and love the roller coaster. We can only hope!!

Mr. Yankee

We got a super cute picture of Dru tonight with his Yankee outfit, hat and Louisville slugger bat. He was hamming it up as always! He can't wait for summer and the Yankees to start playing again. How about them Yankees, Grandpa Steve!

8 months Repost

I'm reposting due to someone putting spam on Dru's page. The picture is from last night. I opened Dru's room and he was standing up in his bed. I was very surprised. I woke Clint up and he came running in thinking there was something wrong with Dru. You'll notice he has a little bed head!!

I had a Dr. appt yesterday, instead of weighing me they weighed Dru. He is 25. 12. He is a real go getter now. His babysitter told me that in the 22 years that she has been babysitting she has never needed to use gates but he could be the first.

Dru has 6 teeth and bites. So far, knock on wood he hasn't had an ear infection in a month.

So apparently Clint took a picture of Dru and I napping tonight.

NO! NO! NO!

Dru is learning a new word NO! He is very mobile now so we are using this word lots. He just looks at you and smiles. He has also officially taken over the living room and dining room. We've had to move the table to make more room for him.

Since our last post lots has happened to our little guy. Saturday Feb. 2nd, Dru woke up wheezing and having a hard time breathing. We gave him a breathing treatment. That didn't work. We took him to his Dr. At that time his oxygen was 82%. They sent us straight to the hospital. His level did go up. He was given a hospital breathing treatment and meds. The nurse kept telling us that it should work right away it didn't. He had to have a second treatment. Thank goodness this treatment worked. If it hadn't they were going to keep Dru over night. Now he has 3 teeth coming in and double ear infection #4.

When it rains it pours

Poor Dru can't get a break from being sick. Wednesday night I took him back for an ear check and it was all clear!! This morning he woke up with a cough and wheezing. Clint took him to the dr. He has a virus that is blocking his airways. He gets to do breathing treatments. Poor guy.

Like Father, Like Son

Dru has his 3rd ear infection. He acts alright but just more fussy. Today was a snow day for me so Dru spent the day with me going to my dr appt.

Dru and Clint were both on their laptops and I couldn't help getting a picture. The other one is of Dru on our new love seat acting like Daddy. He thought he was big stuff that he got the remote. Enjoy and have a great day!!

6 months!!

Dru is officially 6 months today. He had a very busy Christmas. 7 different places in one week! He is working on 2 more teeth to make a total of 4! He has had 2 ear infections. The day after Christmas I took him back to the Dr because he had a reacted to his meds. As the Dr was looking in his ears he noticed that the right one also had an infection. He is on a different med and is doing good on it. He weighs 23 pounds! He is 28 inches long! He is off the charts!! The dr thinks that he is doing great!
