Halloween!

Dru was a monkey for Halloween this year! Friday my mom and I took him for pictures. He didn't really want his picture taken. They were only able to get 2 pictures and only 1 was good. I did get my money's worth out of his costume. He didn't want to take it off. 9am to 4pm. We didn't go trick or treating since it was really cold and windy.

Dru is 2!

My baby is officially 2 now!

Dru went for his 2 year check up on June 23rd! Here are the stats: Weight 36 lbs! Height 38"!!! He also had to have a blood draw. They took it from his arm and it took two tries. Poor baby :( His lead levels came back normal. His platelets were on the low side so he has to have another draw on the 14th. Clint and I have, of course, did our research. We think that his levels could be low because he had hand, foot and mouth in June.

Dru celebrated his birthday by taking monkey cupcakes to Julie's house! I let him help a little. I didn't send those.

After supper Dru opened presents! He was so cute sitting on the couch like a big boy opening all of his presents.

We are doing his party on Sunday, July 5th! I'm making a Monkey Cake! Pictures to come later.

Today for Father's day Clint made Dru a tent! Clint covered the bed with a blanket! He even got in the tent with Dru! What a great dad!

So I finally got the link from our pictures that we had taken on Saturday with Kevin and Roberta. We had them taken at JcPenneys. They let Kevin bring his bike in. Dru wasn't for sure about it all of it at first and then he was hamming it up!

SOOOO BIG!

Dru is officially out of his crib. We decided after Saturday it would be the last time that he would sleep in his crib. I knew that he could get himself out of his crib but we were waiting until our new bedroom was done before putting him in his big boy bed. I woke up to the sound of Dru doing something in the living room. I knew that Clint wasn't with him because I could hear his pjs making noises on the floor. Clint always changes his clothes right away and is talks to him about left foot/right foot. I came out to the living to find Dru with a broom. He had gotten the broom from the basement steps. He didn't go down the steps just got the broom and shut the basement door. He even closed his bedroom door before playing. This weekend we went to my parents for Mother's day. 3 years ago my mom and I bought a VW bug bed. The bug came back with us. Uncle Chad and I put the bed together! My baby is no longer a baby. 53 days until he is 2! Where has the time gone?

Marker King!

Dru loves to play with markers. If I can catch him before he writes on anything it's OK. Tonight I thought he was brushing his hair after his bath but nope he had a Sharpie! Yes, a Sharpie! He drew across his forehead. It looked like he had a uni brow. What else could be do but laugh and take his picture. He is taking after his mommy. I was the marker queen when I was little!

Dru also had a visitor this week! Flat Tessa came to visit. We were apart of Tessa's class project.


We met with the feritlity specialist on Tuesday. For now we are going to try Clomid and pray it works. If it doesn't I'm going to have to have surgery.
My new job is going good. I don't have a lot of students yet but that's ok. It's giving me a chance to spend time with Dru and give my brain a much needed rest.

Changes!!!

Is it a clown? Nope it's Dru with his daddy's shoes on.

Changes are coming to the Spurgeon household.
1. Dru is starting the process of potty training. He has already gone once in the potty. Such a big boy.

2. We are starting the long process of remodeling our house. We are putting a bedroom in our basement. Clint promises me that next will be the kitchen! I hope.

3. I have a different job starting March 30th. I'll be working at Education Resources. I'll be working as a tutor. In the fall 2 different positions will open up one in preschool and the other in first grade. I will miss Childtime and the students that I have been working with though.

4. We are seeing a fertility specialist on the 31st. With Dru and the miscarriage things happened very quickly. This time around things aren't happening. We would appreciate lots of prayers as we start this process.

More changes I'm sure are to coming but for now this is it.

Sledding!!

We have snow, snow and more snow! Today was finally warm enough to take Dru out and play in the snow. In other words for the people who aren't living in Iowa right now it isn't -20 out! We hit 32 today.

Daycare Friends and 18 month stats

Dru has many friends at Julie's. He is no longer the only boy!! Piper (4) Parker (6 months) Lucas (5 months) and Reece (almost a year old). Piper and Parker are sisters.

Christmas!

I'm finally getting Christmas on here! Dru started celebrating Christmas on Dec. 23. Clint's work had a Christmas party for the employees' kids. Dru was very amazed by the balloon artist. He got a Santa Monkey made. He also sat on Santa's lap and didn't cry!!

Christmas Eve Dru came to work with me. I got off at noon. We were off by 3 for the first of many Christmases to come. Christmas Eve we went to my Grandma Wiley's. Over 40 of us this year. Here is a picture of what some of it looks like.

Dru and Dawson they are exactly one month apart!

Christmas Day we opened presents at Grandma and Grandpa Spurgeon's. For lunch we went to Clint's aunt and uncle's house.

We ended the weekend by spending Christmas with my family on Saturday night and on Sunday we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Merck's.

I love my new sled. I wish it would snow again so I could use it...Dru
